The Turin String Quartet honors the Maestro on the Orta San Giulio lakeside
The Tribute Concert for Ezio Bosso returns to bring the music of the Turin-born Maestro back to Orta San Giulio, in the Province of Novara, in the heart of Piedmont. The event takes place in Piazza Motta, the scenic "living room" overlooking Lake Orta and the Island of San Giulio, widely considered one of the most picturesque lakeside squares in Italy. On the evening of the concert, music becomes a collective moment of reflection and celebration for both the local community and visitors to the village.
The star of the evening is the Turin String Quartet, an ensemble linked to Ezio Bosso by a long-standing friendship and artistic collaboration. The group consists of Edoardo De Angelis and Umberto Fantini on violins, Andrea Repetto on viola, and Manuel Zigante on cello. The quartet has collaborated with the Maestro on various projects, including the soundtrack for the film I'm Not Scared (Io non ho paura) by Gabriele Salvatores, and performs some of Bosso's most cherished and recognizable compositions.
Ezio Bosso, the composer, pianist, and conductor who passed away in 2020, left behind a musical legacy that continues to move a vast audience. The Orta San Giulio concert was created to preserve this heritage and transform memory into a shared experience of listening, participation, and beauty. The evening is part of a series of concerts dedicated to the Maestro, promoted by Novara-based entrepreneur Mara Galli, which has grown with each passing edition.
The initiative is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Orta San Giulio and offers free admission for all. Attending the concert in Piazza Motta means combining great contemporary classical music with the magic of one of Italy's most beautiful villages, with the sunset light over Lake Orta providing the perfect backdrop for this tribute to one of the most beloved Italian artists of recent decades.
