Trentino Danza Estate is one of the longest-running and most acclaimed dance festivals in Trentino-Alto Adige. Every year, during the last week of August, the town of Tesero, in the province of Trento, becomes a vast open-air laboratory dedicated to movement and professional training. Directed by Paolo Golser and Donatella Zampiero, the event has established itself as a national benchmark for students, teachers, and dance enthusiasts alike.
A Week of Workshops and Training
The core of the festival is its intensive workshop program: seven days of classes spanning all major dance styles, from classical ballet to contemporary, and from hip hop to musical theatre, including modern dance and lyrical jazz. Courses are led by professional instructors who guide participants of all levels through a journey of technical and artistic growth. Scholarships are also available for the most deserving students, underscoring the event's commitment to education.
Evening Performances
Beyond the classroom, Trentino Danza Estate offers a series of public evening performances, turning the event into a true festival. The Teatro Comunale di Tesero and various local venues host shows, including a welcome evening featuring dance school performances, hip hop contests, and guest shows by renowned national companies. The week traditionally concludes with the Grand Finale at the Cavalese Sports Hall, where all students and faculty take the stage.

Trentino Danza Estate 2026: The 24th Edition
The twenty-fourth edition of Trentino Danza Estate will be held in Tesero, Val di Fiemme (Trentino-Alto Adige), from August 23 to 29, 2026, under the direction of Paolo Golser and Donatella Zampiero. The program includes seven days of workshops with 20 courses and 9 instructors, six days dedicated to performances, and the awarding of scholarships to the most deserving students.
The Instructors
Confirmed instructors include Pierpaolo Ciacciulli (Accademia Ucraina di Balletto di Milano), Roberta Fontana for modern dance, Orlando Moltoni for hip hop, Patrick Ang and Isabel Nardelli from Lighthouse Dance Studio, Gianluca Ferrato for musical theatre, Michael Cassan for lyrical jazz, and, as a new addition this year, Daniela Borghini for contemporary dance.
The Performances
The evening lineup kicks off on August 25 with "Sconfinamenti," a production by the Fondazione Teatro Ponchielli of Cremona and TIR Danza, at the Teatro Comunale of Tesero. On August 28, it's time for "Gente" by Michela Lucenti's Balletto Civile, a traveling performance through the streets of the village. The program also features the Welcome Evening and the MAD 4 Dance hip hop contest. The week concludes on August 29 with the Grand Finale at the Cavalese Sports Hall.
