The Sagra di San Michele a Levada di Onigo is the patronal festival of the small rural village of Levada, part of Pederobba, in the province of Treviso. Located between Covolo and Onigo, at the foot of Montello and a stone's throw from the Piave river, Levada is a village of stone houses that comes alive every September thanks to a festival with a strong identity value, organized by the Comitato Festeggiamenti Levada.

Saint Michael, spit roast and 'Tito Teto'

The heart of the festival is the Mass in honor of Saint Michael, the patron saint of the area, followed by dinner with the traditional spit roast, a prime dish of the Trevigiano tradition. But the element that makes this festival unique is the 'Tito Teto': the particular sound of the bells, passed down from generation to generation, which during the festival days echoes through the village to call the inhabitants. A tradition that testifies to Levada's strong identity and the community's connection to its roots.

A village that comes back to life

The Sagra di San Michele is one of the two most cherished events in Pederobba's September calendar. For a few days, the narrow streets of Levada fill with people, the aroma of spit roast, and the sound of bells, in a celebration that is above all an act of care for the memory and identity of the rural village.
