About Trame Urbane
Trame Urbane: Culture in Rome's Outskirts
Trame Urbane is a multidisciplinary live performance festival held at the Teatro del Lido di Ostia, located in Municipio X of the city of Rome, on the coast of the Lazio region. Conceived and curated by the Nutrimenti Terrestri company, the festival presents a series of eight autumn events ranging from music and dance to prose and children's theatre, with the goal of making culture an accessible right even in the city's most peripheral districts.
A Project for an Engaged City
The festival's title reflects its ambition: to weave trame (wefts/plots) between people and urban spaces, fostering active citizenship, inclusion, and collective well-being. Each edition focuses on the intersection of diverse artistic languages and a dialogue with the territory of Ostia, Rome's historic seaside gateway. The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture and is one of the winners of the Roma Creativa 365 public call promoted by Roma Capitale.
Music, Dance, and Prose in One Programme
The Trame Urbane programme is designed as a mosaic of genres. Alongside concerts exploring world music and jazz masters, the schedule includes prose performances dedicated to civil memory, contemporary dance productions, and children's theatre for local families. The narrative theatre explores significant chapters of Italian history, from the events in Sicilian mines to the figure of Pier Paolo Pasolini, in a constant blend of social commitment and poetry.
The Teatro del Lido di Ostia
The heart of the festival is the Teatro del Lido, a cultural production space born from citizen participation that has become a landmark for the artistic life of the Roman coast. Its location, just steps from the sea in Ostia, makes it a symbolic place where culture serves as a community tool. Most performances are free of charge until capacity is reached, with a few events requiring a symbolic ticket price.

How to get there
The Teatro del Lido is located at Via delle Sirene 22, in Lido di Ostia (Rome, Municipio X). From Rome city centre, it can be reached via the Roma-Lido railway (Metromare) at the Lido Centro stop, or by car along Via del Mare / Via Cristoforo Colombo.
Tickets
Most performances are free until capacity is reached; some events require a symbolic ticket of €5. Reservations are recommended.
