About Valdadige Carnival

The Traditional Valdadige Carnival enlivens the villages of Brentino Belluno in February, nestled between the slopes of Monte Baldo and the Adige River. Promoted by the Valdadige Committee, the festival combines the parade and celebrations of Brentino with the 'Ultimo di Carnevale' (Last Carnival Day) in Belluno Veronese, at the heart of Fat Tuesday. Confetti, colourful costumes, and the contagious joy of a community gathering along the river make this carnival a cherished event for the entire Veronese valley.

The Carnival that Colours the Valdadige

When February arrives in the narrow valley carved by the Adige River between Monte Baldo and the Lessini Mountains, the small villages of Brentino Belluno, in the province of Verona, dress up for the Traditional Valdadige Carnival. It's one of those genuine local festivals, far from the big media stages, where community participation and the joy of gathering are what truly matter.

Two Pulsating Hearts: Brentino and Belluno Veronese

The Carnival unfolds across the two main locations of the Municipality. In Brentino, traditional celebrations extend over several days, featuring masks, entertainment, and convivial moments. In Belluno Veronese, the highlight is the 'Ultimo di Carnevale', which falls on Fat Tuesday and beautifully closes the carnival season with the last big party before Lent.

A Community Celebration

Behind the organization is the Valdadige Committee, the same association that enlivens the valley throughout the year with other traditional, gastronomic, and cultural events. The Carnival is free and open to all: families, costumed children, and curious visitors can immerse themselves in a carefree atmosphere, amidst the courtyards and squares of the riverside villages.

A Territory to Discover

The Veronese Valdadige is a borderland between Veneto and Trentino, marked by terraced vineyards, freshwater trout, and the black truffle of Monte Baldo. Experiencing the Carnival here also means discovering an authentic corner of the province of Verona, where popular traditions endure over time.

Valdadige Carnival — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of the Traditional Valdadige Carnival took place from February 17 to 21. In Brentino, traditional celebrations were held, while in Belluno Veronese, the 'Ultimo di Carnevale' on Fat Tuesday (February 17) closed the carnival season for the valley.

The Traditional Valdadige Carnival 2026 enlivened the villages of Brentino Belluno between February 17 and 21, promoted by the Valdadige Committee. In Belluno Veronese, the most anticipated moment was the 'Ultimo di Carnevale' on Tuesday, February 17, Fat Tuesday, with masks and a village festival. In Brentino, traditional celebrations extended over the following days, until February 21, offering the community of the Veronese Valdadige a cheerful interlude of colour and conviviality before Lent.
