The September feast in the hamlet of Settimo di Pescantina
The Addolorata Festival is the traditional festival of the hamlet of Settimo, in the municipality of Pescantina, in the province of Verona. It takes place in September, around the liturgical feast of the Blessed Virgin of Sorrows (September 15th), and typically spans two weekends of celebration that liven up the hamlet.
The heart of the festival is the food stand with traditional Veronese home cooking, accompanied by the large dance floor, a real meeting point for fans of ballroom dancing. There is also a charity raffle and the Luna Park, making the festival an event loved by all generations.
The festival is organized by the parish of Settimo together with the Pro Loco, with the patronage of the Municipality of Pescantina, and keeps alive the link between the popular festival and devotion to the Madonna Addolorata. It is an authentic example of how, in the Venetian hamlets, religious observances continue to mark community life.
Settimo di Pescantina is located along the Adige river, at the entrance to Valpolicella, the land of great Veronese wines. The Addolorata Festival offers an opportunity to experience the conviviality of a hamlet festival, far from the major tourist circuits, in the heart of a region rich in traditions.
The 2026 edition of the Addolorata Festival is expected in September in Settimo di Pescantina, on the occasion of the feast of the Madonna Addolorata. The festival will again feature the food stand with home cooking, the large dance floor, the charity raffle, and the Luna Park, typically spanning two weekends. Detailed dates and program will be published by the Pro Loco of Settimo shortly before the event.
