The tradition of Saint Lucia in Verona

The Saint Lucia Fair is one of the most cherished events in the Veronese calendar. It takes place in the days leading up to December 13th, Saint Lucia's feast day, culminating on the night between the 12th and 13th, when—according to tradition—the Saint brings gifts to the children of Verona, accompanied by her donkey.

The stalls in Piazza Bra

The heart of the fair are the stalls that fill Piazza Bra, at the foot of the Arena, and extend along Via Roma and the historic center. The stalls, managed by street vendors from all over Italy, offer toys, sweets, ceramics, handicrafts, and gift ideas for Christmas: an unmissable event for families and children.
