The great summer festival of Garfagnana

For over forty years, the Trade Week has been the iconic summer event in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, the historic capital of the Garfagnana region in the province of Lucca, in the heart of northern Tuscany. Organized by the Compriamo a Castelnuovo association, a local commercial center affiliated with Confcommercio, the festival transforms the town's historic center into a large open-air stage for over ten consecutive nights, where evening shopping meets music, entertainment, gastronomy, and tradition.

Shops open until midnight

The core of the festival is the extraordinary late-night shopping: every evening, local businesses stay open until late, enlivening the squares and streets of the center with stalls, markets, tastings, and activities designed for both residents and tourists. Piazza Umberto I, Piazza delle Erbe, and Piazza Carli become the nerve centers of the celebration, while the evocative Rocca Ariostesca opens its doors in the evening, honoring the town's connection to the poet Ludovico Ariosto, who served as governor here on behalf of the Este family.

Entertainment, music, and Garfagnana's Got Talent

Each edition offers a rich program with dozens of events spread throughout the festival: concerts by local bands and groups, performances by the Filarmonica Verdi of Castelnuovo, comedy and cabaret shows, dance nights, musical fireworks on the eve of Ferragosto, and themed days dedicated to creativity, sports, and children. The most anticipated moment is the final of Garfagnana's Got Talent, the artistic competition that for nine years has showcased singers, dancers, and local performers before a large audience.
