Tortoreto Comix: Pop culture arrives on the Adriatic shore
Every summer, the Lungomare Sirena in Tortoreto Lido, on the Teramo coast, transforms into a small paradise for fans of comics, video games, and pop culture. Tortoreto Comix is the seaside summer version of Teramo Comix & Games, a historic Abruzzo nerd culture event: a relaxed, free, open-air format that brings stalls, games, and shows just a stone's throw from the sea, in the municipality of Tortoreto (Province of Teramo, Abruzzo).
A festival for all ages
The event was created as an appointment for families and young people, but it also speaks to collectors and gaming veterans. During its evenings, different facets of pop culture take the stage:
- Comics and illustration: Publisher stalls, artists, and merchandise, with meet-and-greets and live drawing sessions.
- Retro gaming: The Altrimondi Arcade provides arcade cabinets and vintage consoles with a free-to-play formula.
- Virtual reality and esports: Stations for immersive experiences, racing simulators, and competitive challenges.
- Board games and Trading Card Games: Tournaments and open play with titles like Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece Card Game, and Disney Lorcana.
- Cosplay and shows: The seafront is filled with costumes, while live music and themed DJ sets follow one another on stage.
From spin-off to a Tortoreto summer ritual
Born as a summer offshoot of Teramo Comix, the event has become a permanent fixture over the years in the rich Estate Tortoretana calendar, promoted by the Tortoreto municipal administration together with the cultural association that manages it. It takes place at the tail end of the beach season, when the town—awarded multiple times with the Blue Flag and Green Spike—experiences its most vibrant moment with concerts, festivals, and events on the seafront.

Tortoreto Comix — edition 2026
Tortoreto Comix returns in 2026 on August 28 and 29 on the Lungomare Sirena in Tortoreto Lido, in the province of Teramo. The event, a summer spin-off of Teramo Comix & Games, is one of the appointments dedicated to families and pop culture fans that close the summer season of the Abruzzo town.
As in previous editions, a free, two-day open-air event is expected with comic book stalls, a retro arcade, virtual reality experiences, esports, board game and Trading Card Game tournaments, cosplay, and evening concerts. At the time of publication, the full line-up has not yet been released: the detailed program will be communicated by the organizers and the IAT office in the weeks preceding the event.

Lungomare Sirena, Tortoreto Lido (Tortoreto, Province of Teramo). In recent editions, the setups have been concentrated in the Rotonda Carducci area; the 2026 edition is announced for Lungomare Sirena.
How to get there
By car: A14 motorway, exit at Val Vibrata or Roseto degli Abruzzi, then follow the SS16 Adriatica. By train: Alba Adriatica-Nereto-Controguerra or Giulianova station, with connections to Tortoreto Lido.
Admission and hours
Free admission. Evenings usually start from 6:00 PM and continue until late with concerts and DJ sets.
