The heart of the festival is, of course, the fried fish, prepared according to local maritime tradition: anchovies, squid, shrimp, and mixed catch from the Ionian Sea are lightly floured and fried on the spot, served hot and crispy in convivial portions. The Fried Fish Festival is free to enter: you only pay for the dishes purchased at the food stands.
