The world championship of tiramisù, in the city that invented it
Tiramisù was born in Treviso, and from that root, it has grown to become one of the most well-known and replicated desserts in the world. The Tiramisù World Cup brings the dessert back to its home, in the heart of the Venetian city, with a formula that is as simple as it is irresistible: a competition open to everyone, where the contenders are not star chefs but ordinary people driven by a passion for home cooking.
Competitors face off in two categories: the Original Recipe, which demands absolute fidelity to the traditional recipe (mascarpone, eggs, sugar, ladyfingers, coffee, and cocoa, with no additions), and the Creative Recipe, which allows for freedom in reinterpreting the dessert with unexpected ingredients and combinations. Preparations are first evaluated by a popular jury of volunteer enthusiasts and, in the final stages, by a technical jury of professionals, journalists, and food experts.
Around the competition, a rich program of events open to the public unfolds: free tastings, workshops, masterclasses, and meetings that liven up the squares of Treviso's historic center. The event is organized by TWISSEN with the support of the Municipality of Treviso and the Veneto Region, and it has successfully transformed an iconic dessert into an international event that attracts participants from Italy, Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
The event is not just a competition; it's a way to tell the gastronomic story of Treviso and the Veneto region, proudly claiming paternity of a recipe that today belongs to everyone. Participating or even just attending means connecting with a living tradition, made of home-style gestures and an extraordinary ability to unite generations and cultures around a spoonful of cream.
The Tiramisù World Cup 2026 will animate the center of Treviso from Friday, October 9 to Sunday, October 11. 240 competitors are expected from all over the world, divided into the two historic categories, Original Recipe and Creative Recipe. For the first time, Pernigotti joins as an official partner for cocoa and chocolate sponsorship.
Alongside the competition, the program offers free tastings open to the public, workshops, and masterclasses dedicated to enthusiasts and industry professionals.
The detailed program with times and locations will be published on the official website closer to the event.
Treviso is easily reachable by train (Treviso Centrale station, a few minutes' walk from the historic center) and by car from the A27 and A4 motorways. Treviso-Sant'Angelo airport is a short distance away.
Registration as a competitor is done online on the official website. Access to tasting areas and piazza events is free until capacity is reached.
