The Mushroom Exhibition of San Vito di Altivole, in the province of Treviso, is a historic event of the Veneto autumn, now in its latest editions after almost forty years of existence. For three consecutive weekends in October, the hamlet of San Vito celebrates mushrooms with an event that combines naturalistic education and great seasonal cuisine, also awarded the Sagra di Qualità (Quality Festival) recognition by UNPLI.
Mycological Exhibition and Food Stand
The cultural heart of the festival is the mycological exhibition, set up by a group of experts who display and explain the characteristics and peculiarities of the collected species. Alongside, the food stand offers a rich menu that showcases mushrooms in a thousand ways, from gnocchi to game dishes. The wine cellar, managed by the Alpini group, offers a curated selection of local wines.
Themed Dinners, Nature, and Heritage
During the event, themed evenings are held, such as the steak dinner and the wild boar dinner. Outdoor activities are also available: guided walks towards Monte Ricco and Rocca d'Asolo, and visits to prestigious sites like the Brion Memorial, a masterpiece by Carlo Scarpa protected by FAI, located within the territory of Altivole. It's a way to discover, beyond good food, the landscape and cultural beauties of the Marca.
