Electronic music, art, and rationalist architecture at the foot of the Water Tower in Pontinia
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Tower Festival is one of the most original events of the summer in the Municipality of Pontinia, in the province of Latina, in the heart of the Agro Pontino region. The festival does more than just occupy a space: it chooses the Ex Water Towerโa symbol of the rationalist architecture that defines the city's skylineโas its absolute protagonist, transforming it into a living backdrop and the beating heart of an immersive stage.
The concept is both simple and ambitious: to return an urban monument to the community through the language of contemporary electronic music and visual arts. Around the base of the tower in Piazza Roma, an open-air listening area is created where visuals, lasers, and light installations engage with the 1930s concrete geometries.
The festival is curated by the cultural association Blessed Vision, with the support of the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Pontinia, the Pro Loco, and local associations. The festival is part of the Estate Pontiniana program and overlaps, on the same weekend, with other city events such as the Notte in Bianco.
The artistic direction focuses on the international techno and experimental scene, with a selection that prioritizes sonic research over mainstream chart-toppers. In recent editions, the tower's stage has hosted prominent European artists, analog live sets, world premieres, and vinyl DJ sets, in a progression that carries the audience from sunset to the first light of dawn.
One of the elements that makes The Tower Festival unique is the opportunity to go inside the tower. A panoramic elevator takes visitors over twenty meters high: at each floor, one encounters multimedia installations, immersive projections, light shows, and electronic soundscapes. The journey concludes on the rooftop terrace, where the view sweeps across the Agro Pontino plain, the reclamation canals, and, on clear days, the silhouette of the Lepini Mountains and the sea of the Pontine coast.
On Sunday, the area in front of the tower becomes an open-air creative laboratory with free activities designed especially for the youngest: experimenting with music using fruit and plants thanks to Playtronica technology, transforming sound into movement through dance and electronic music paths, creating artistic prints inspired by the Water Tower, and building musical instruments from recycled materials. It is a way to make the festival a city-wide occasion rather than just an event for club culture enthusiasts.
Pontinia is one of the 'new towns' of the Agro Pontino and preserves a highly coherent rationalist urban layout. Experiencing an electronic music festival beneath its tower means traversing a piece of 20th-century Italian history with a completely contemporary soundtrack. It is an experience that combines sonic research, the rediscovery of architectural heritage, and a sense of community that can be felt in the city streets throughout the weekend.
Those arriving from out of town can take advantage of Pontinia's strategic location to explore the area: the Circeo National Park and coastal lakes, the Fossanova Abbey, the city of Latina, and the beaches of the Pontine coast are all reachable in less than an hour by car. The area also offers a gastronomy linked to buffalo mozzarella, fresh garden produce, and the wines of the Lepini Mountains.
At the time of writing, there are no official communications regarding the 2026 edition of The Tower Festival in Pontinia. The dates, format, and artistic program have not been announced.
We recommend following the festival's official social media channels and the announcements from the Municipality of Pontinia and the Pro Loco, which publish the Estate Pontiniana program in the weeks leading up to the event.
