An urban art laboratory on the Roman coast

Think Tank Art is a festival dedicated to urban art and contemporary creativity that enlivens the historic center of Anzio, a coastal city in the Province of Rome overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. For a few days in September, the squares, alleys, and harbor area turn into a large open-air studio, where Italian and international artists create live murals, canvases, and installations that engage with the local maritime and historical identity.

The origins: the first edition in 2025

The event was established in September 2025 by Trigonart, with the patronage and support of the Municipality of Anzio and the collaboration of the Pablo Picasso Art High School, Youart, and Arena Arte. From the very beginning, the goal was to blend street art practice with critical reflection: alongside the creation of the works, meetings were held with art critics, architects, and journalists, who shared the cultural value of contemporary urban art with the public.

A widespread itinerary in the historic center

The most recognizable feature of Think Tank Art is its widespread nature: the works are not concentrated in a single exhibition space but are scattered along a route that crosses the heart of the city. Murals painted on symbolic walls, canvases displayed in shop and restaurant windows, and temporary installations invite visitors to move through the streets of Anzio like a real artistic treasure hunt, map in hand, discovering a new creative intervention at every turn.

Art, meetings, and young protagonists

One of the most interesting aspects of the festival is the direct involvement of young people: students from art schools participate in live performances, working alongside the artists in a formative experience that brings new generations closer to the world of urban creativity. The program alternates between moments of artistic production, round tables, and musical appointments, offering a lively and multidisciplinary portrait of contemporary art.

Anzio, between sea and culture

Located in southern Lazio, just over an hour from Rome, Anzio is a city rich in history, from the archaeological site of Nero's Villa to the 1944 Allied landing. Think Tank Art adds a new layer to this heritage—that of urban art—and invites residents and visitors to experience the historic center in a new light, where the sea, tradition, and the contemporary language of murals meet in one great celebration of creativity.
