The Three Jewels - Voices of the Territory

An itinerary through art, history, and spirituality

The Three Jewels - Voices of the Territory is a cultural initiative curated by the FAI Delegation of Vercelli (National Trust for Italy), in collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Office of the Archdiocese of Vercelli. The event guides visitors along a multi-stop route connecting three towns in the Province of Vercelli, Piedmont: Oldenico, Albano Vercellese, and Arborio, where the itinerary concludes.

Three hidden treasures of the Vercelli plains

The three churches featured in the event represent a widespread heritage of exceptional value. Often overlooked by the general public, they surprise visitors with the richness of their artistic legacy, ranging from Romanesque roots to a flourishing period in the 15th century.

• Church of San Lorenzo in Oldenico: The starting point of the itinerary, housing recently restored frescoes that return a precious chapter of local figurative history to the community.
• Oratory of the Santissima Trinità in Albano Vercellese: Preserves depictions of rare iconography, a testament to local popular devotion and artistic culture.
• Oratory of San Sebastiano in Arborio: The final stop of the route, hosting a monumental 15th-century cycle of the Passion of Christ, a true pictorial gem of the area.

Voices of the Territory

Visitors are accompanied along the route by volunteers from the FAI Delegation of Vercelli and the custodians of these sacred sites, who work daily to preserve and share this important heritage. The event's title stems from this network of passion and daily care: the "voices of the territory" are those of the people who bring these places to life and tell their stories.

The event is part of the activities promoted by FAI in the Upper Piedmont region to enhance minor and dispersed artistic heritage—treasures that rarely find space in major tourist guides but represent the authentic soul of the small towns in the Province of Vercelli.
