The grand Christmas Village at the cinema-themed park, featuring illuminations, ice shows, and markets just outside Rome
Every winter, Cinecittà World, the grand cinema-themed park located in Castel Romano, just outside Rome, dresses up for the holidays and transforms into the Christmas of Wonders. Located in the municipality of Rome, on the southern outskirts of the capital, the park becomes one of the largest Christmas displays in Lazio and Central Italy, with a Christmas Village that blends the magic of cinema with the festive atmosphere to welcome families, children, and visitors of all ages.
The heart of the event is the Christmas Village, featuring Santa's house, a post office for letters, and markets brimming with sweets, holiday food, and gift ideas. Cinecittà World Street gets a festive makeover with Christmas Street, inspired by 1920s New York, while snowfall on Main Street and artistic illuminations accompany strolls through the park's attractions, all decorated for the occasion.
The program is punctuated by live performances: every day features the opening Christmas Show, with holiday music and choreography, followed by the Christmas Parade with Santa Claus, his elves, and characters beloved by children. From mid-season, international skaters and performers of Christmas On Ice present their show on the rink, while the Cinema Nativity Scene and the Incanto show, featuring acrobats and dancers inspired by great screen icons, highlight the park's cinematic soul.
Among the new additions is Oriental World, the Chinese Lantern Festival: a trail with over 220 light installations, spectacular architectures up to eight meters high, a dragon over 30 meters long, the Dragon Palace and Oriental Wonderland worlds, along with a Chinese culinary experience. It is an evening journey through lights, myths, and legends that gives Christmas at Cinecittà World a truly international touch.
On December 31st, the park hosts one of Italy's largest New Year's Eve celebrations, with themed dinners and galas, attractions open until late at night, clubs, concerts, DJ sets, and midnight fireworks. A non-stop party that closes the year with fun and spectacle, before the final days of the village leading up to Epiphany.
The Christmas of Wonders is much more than a market: it is an immersive experience that leverages the scenery and cinematic soul of Cinecittà World to tell the story of the holidays with a unique language in Lazio. Easily accessible from Rome and neighboring towns, the event has become a holiday tradition for families in the capital and the province of Rome.
