The Blue Night in Fratta Terme

The Blue Night is the great distributed festival of thermal wellness in Emilia-Romagna, the "land of well-being": for an entire weekend at the end of June, over fifteen thermal centers along the Via Emilia, from Salsomaggiore to Riccione, stay open until late at night and come alive with more than sixty events including music, gastronomy, treatments, and outdoor activities. The common thread is the celestial blue color, a symbol of water and sky, which colors signs, lights, and initiatives.

Among the most evocative stops is that of Fratta Terme, a hamlet of the Municipality of Bertinoro, in the Province of Forlì-Cesena, nestled in the Romagna hills between vineyards and gullies. Here the festival unfolds between the village, Piazza Colitto, and the renovated Grand Hotel Terme della Fratta, a historic thermal complex famous for its Art Deco Festival Pavilion decorated by Maestro Tito Chini.

Three days of wellness and celebration

The 2026 edition is scheduled from Friday, June 26th to Sunday, June 28th. The opening evening lights up Piazza Colitto with the outdoor Celestial Picnic, markets, games, the celestial aperitif with Romagna wines, and the screening of the animated short film festival Animare, where children vote for their favorite films, followed by a concert by the town band.

Saturday is dedicated to thermal baths and relaxation: Spa circuit, guided tour of the Terme della Fratta, mud therapy, and a grand Celestial Dinner at the Grand Hotel. The evening features a musical tribute to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Secondo Casadei, father of Romagna's 'liscio' music, and the experience of Massages under the stars in the evening hours. Sunday morning concludes sweetly with Pilates in the park classes, the Celestial Breakfast, and a guided walk in the green.

A local tradition

Promoted by APT Servizi Emilia-Romagna together with local municipalities and spa operators, and in Fratta Terme organized with the Municipality of Bertinoro and the Pro Loco Fratta Terme, The Blue Night is now an anticipated event at the start of summer. It combines the culture of Emilia-Romagna's thermalism with the region's food and wine and hospitality, offering families, couples, and curious visitors a weekend of accessible and convivial relaxation.
