The great spring festival of Cervignano del Friuli
The name says a lot: Terra e Fiume. It is the great spring festival of Cervignano del Friuli, the main center of the eastern Bassa Friulana, crossed by the Ausa river and immersed in a landscape where the agricultural plain meets the waters flowing towards the lagoon of Grado. Organized by Pro Loco Cervignano del Friuli APS, the event will reach its 22nd edition in 2026 and is one of the community's most beloved events.
The beating heart of the festival is Piazza Indipendenza, which transforms into a large village of conviviality for an entire weekend: food stalls with Friulian specialties, live concerts, DJ sets, car exhibitions, art shows, and a funfair for families. There are also free activities for children, with creative workshops and entertainment.
Terra e Fiume is not just about music and food. The event traditionally opens with a theatrical performance at the Pasolini Theatre and concludes with a cycling tour, organized by Velo Club Cervignano, which takes participants to discover the territory between the land and the river. It is this varietyโculture, sport, taste, and funโthat makes the festival an event for everyone.
Cervignano del Friuli is well-connected and just a few minutes from Aquileia, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the beaches of Grado. Visiting Terra e Fiume means experiencing the warmth of a great Friulian village festival, where the Pro Loco and local associations serve the community with energy and passion.
The 2026 edition of Terra e Fiume, the 22nd, is held from May 21 to 24. The festival opens on Thursday, May 21, with a performance at the Pasolini Theatre and continues from Friday to Sunday in Piazza Indipendenza, the heart of the event, with the usual offering of gastronomy, music, entertainment, and activities for all ages.
Cervignano del Friuli is served by a train station (Cervignano-Aquileia-Grado) and the A4 motorway (Palmanova exit). The festival takes place in Piazza Indipendenza; the opening show is at the Pasolini Theatre.
Free entry to the festival area. Theatre show and funfair rides are ticketed; food and drinks from stalls are paid.
Accommodation facilities in Cervignano, Aquileia, and Grado.
