Terra di Vini – Sicilian Wine Expo is the wine event that brings the Capo d'Orlando marina, located on the Tyrrhenian coast of the Messina province, to life. The festival transforms the panoramic Terrazza Mercadante into a vast open-air salon dedicated to the island's wine excellence, offering tastings, meetings, and in-depth sessions for enthusiasts, industry professionals, and tourism and food experts.

Over one hundred Sicilian wineries

The heart of the event lies in its Sicilian wineries: the inaugural edition featured over one hundred labels representing the island's finest producers. Visitors enjoyed a tasting journey that showcased Sicily's extraordinary oenological diversity, from native grape varieties like Nero d'Avola, Grillo, and Lucido to the most innovative local productions. Alongside the tasting stands, masterclasses led by experts guide the public through the discovery of the island's unique terroir and wines.

Wine, cuisine, and music

Terra di Vini is more than just tastings: the program weaves together talks and round tables on wine tourism and wine as a catalyst for regional development, show cooking sessions with Sicilian chefs pairing wine with local cuisine, and live concerts that energize the evenings on the sea-facing terrace. It is a format that blends wine culture, gastronomy, and entertainment into a single, cohesive experience.

A project for Sicilian oenology

The event was created with the institutional support of the Regional Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Mediterranean Fisheries, with the involvement of organizations such as Assovini Sicilia and the Consorzio di tutela vini DOC Sicilia. Its stated goal is to promote and enhance Sicily's oenological heritage, creating meeting opportunities for producers, professionals, and tourists, and using wine as a tourism engine for the town of Capo d'Orlando and the entire Sicilian Region.

When it takes place

Terra di Vini is held between late summer and early autumn on the Terrazza Mercadante at the Capo d'Orlando marina. The debut edition took place in September 2025; the event is confirmed for 2026 with new summer dates, maintaining the same stunning seaside setting.
