The summer concert of the Telve Folkloric Band

In the heart of Valsugana, the summer concert of the Telve Folkloric Band is one of the most anticipated musical events of the summer in the small municipality of Telve, in the province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige. The evening is traditionally held in Piazza Vecchia, the village's open-air living room, and is moved to the municipal multipurpose hall in case of bad weather.

A band in traditional costume

The unique feature of this ensemble is the folkloric attire worn by the musicians: a costume that faithfully reproduces the festive clothing of the people of Telve in the 19th century, the result of three years of research and recognized as authentic by the Provincial Association for the Protection of Uses and Customs. The band was founded in 1991 by former players and supporters of the village's "old" band, with the aim of combining band tradition with local folklore, holding its first public concert on May 1st, 1993.

What to expect

The concert repertoire ranges from marches to soundtracks, from famous pop music hits to traditional Trentino folk songs, in a program designed for audiences of all ages. Conducted by Maestro Bernardino Zanetti, a bassoon graduate of the Trento Conservatory, the band is an active part of Telve's musical life and participates in numerous events, including the "Bande in vetta" festival in the mountain huts of Trentino.

A community gathering

The concert in Piazza Vecchia is a festive moment for the entire Telve community and visitors to Valsugana: admission is free, and the evening takes place in a convivial atmosphere, celebrating live music and local traditions.
