Ideas, research, and creativity at Castello Doria, in the heart of the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese
TEDxAngri is an independently organized TEDx event that brings the TED talk format to Angri, in the province of Salerno: a series of short, back-to-back presentations that explore research, professions, or personal stories without jargon or fluff. The setting is the Castello Doria, located in Piazza Doria, one of the town's most iconic landmarks—a historic backdrop that engages in a dialogue with the themes of innovation brought to the stage.
Launched in 2025 by a group of local young people, the event quickly established itself as one of the most followed cultural gatherings in the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese region of Campania. This is not a traditional conference: alongside the talks, there are limited-capacity workshops, exhibitions, networking opportunities, and a surprise final performance, ensuring the day remains vibrant from morning until night.
The second edition, held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, chose the theme CORE: a reference to the heart as the center of everything, as well as an invitation to return to the essential—what remains when the superfluous is stripped away. The acronym marks four stages:
The organizers summarize the journey as: «a voyage toward who we are, what we discover, and what we can become».
The 2026 stage featured a mix of science, business, art, and entertainment, with a deliberate choice: to provide a platform for both internationally recognized researchers and local voices.
A significant part of the day is dedicated to experiential workshops, designed for hands-on learning rather than passive listening. In 2026, the range spanned from wellness to technology:
Among the side events, Fight for Kindness stands out—an international design exhibition brought to Angri thanks to technical partner Zetafonts: over 760 posters signed by more than 600 designers from 75 countries, all built around the idea of kindness expressed through typography and visual communication. An exhibition to be explored while walking through the castle halls, extending the experience beyond the duration of the talks.
TEDxAngri relies on a broad network of institutional and private partners, from the Municipality of Angri to universities in Campania, as well as local businesses and associations. «TEDxAngri is not just a dream coming true, but also an opportunity to enhance the territory and help the entire community grow,» the organization explained when presenting the second edition—a statement that clearly explains why the event chose a historic landmark in the town center rather than an anonymous auditorium.
For those visiting Campania, the day can be an opportunity to discover a part of the Salerno province less frequented by mass tourism, located just a short distance from the main routes connecting Naples, Pompeii, Salerno, and the Amalfi Coast.
For its second edition, TEDxAngri chose a short and direct theme, CORE, which refers to the heart as the center of everything and serves as an invitation to return to the essential. The four letters guided the structure of the program: Courage, Origin, Research, and Evolution, presented by the organizers as «a journey toward who we are, what we discover, and what we can become».
The day alternated between talks, limited-capacity workshops, and informal networking moments in the halls and spaces of the castle. Alongside the stage presentations, the public could visit the international exhibition Fight for Kindness and conclude the day with a surprise performance followed by a closing party.
The program confirmed the event's dual focus: on one hand, science and innovation, with voices from the University of Salerno, the University of Naples Federico II, and MIT; on the other, creativity and storytelling, with actors, singers, screenwriters, and artists. A blend designed for a broad, non-specialist audience, in line with the spirit of the TEDx format.
Castello Doria, Piazza Doria, 84012 Angri (SA) — Campania. The venue is located in the town center of Angri, in the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese, along the route between Naples and Salerno.
Admission is ticketed, and ticket sales for the 2026 edition were managed online via the Happyticket platform. Capacity is limited by the size of the castle halls: it is advisable to book as soon as sales open, as well as for the workshops, which require separate registration and have limited spots.
Talks are recorded and republished on official channels: those unable to attend in person can watch them later. Those arriving from outside the region can combine the day with a visit to Pompeii, Salerno, or the Amalfi Coast, all of which are easily reachable in a short time.
