The multidisciplinary AMAT festival at the Bramante Theatre in Urbania
TeatrOltre is the multidisciplinary festival conceived and produced by AMAT (Associazione Marchigiana Attività Teatrali) with the support of the Marche Region and the Ministry of Culture. Born as a grand stage for the most important experiences in contemporary languages, it intertwines theatre, dance, and music in a journey that crosses eleven cities in the Marche region. Among these is Urbania, in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, where the shows are hosted at the Teatro Bramante.
Urbania is not the sole venue of the festival, but one of the stops on a regional circuit that connects the historic theatres of the Marche each season. For an inland town like Urbania, already known for its ceramic tradition and the National Befana Festival, hosting TeatrOltre means welcoming research companies and names from the Italian contemporary scene that rarely reach smaller centres. The events in Urbania generally take place between winter and spring, with evening performances at the Teatro Bramante.
The review unfolds over several months, from December to June, with dozens of events distributed among Pesaro, Fano, Urbino, Cagli, Fabriano, Jesi, Montalto delle Marche, San Benedetto del Tronto, Senigallia, and Urbania itself. Each city hosts a selection of titles, allowing the public to follow the entire programme by travelling between theatres or to focus on the offerings in their local area.
The Teatro Bramante is the historic theatre of Urbania, located in the town centre. A small space with an intimate atmosphere, it is the ideal setting for the research theatre, contemporary dance, and performance proposals that characterise TeatrOltre, where the proximity between stage and audience enhances the direct relationship between artists and spectators.
The XXII edition of TeatrOltre took place from December 2025 to June 2026, involving eleven cities in the Marche region with a rich programme of contemporary theatre, dance, and music, conceived and produced by AMAT with the support of the Marche Region and the Ministry of Culture.
In Urbania, at the Teatro Bramante, the festival offered four events between February and April 2026, featuring some of the most recognized companies and artists on the Italian contemporary scene.
Start times are set at 9:15 PM. The regional review also included events in Pesaro, Fano, Urbino, Cagli, Fabriano, Jesi, Montalto delle Marche, San Benedetto del Tronto, and Senigallia.
Among the most anticipated moments of the Urbania stop were the performance "Shakespearology" by the company Sotterraneo with Woody Neri (February 5) and "L'Impasto" by Maria Francesca Guerra (March 7), a dance theatre piece with live original music.
