Four nights of beer, street food, and live music at the Fiera Collina di Sant'Antonio area
The Teano Beer Festival has become a staple of late July in the town of Teano, located in the province of Caserta in the heart of inland Campania. Originally a small local village feast, it has grown over the years into a major provincial event: the 2025 edition marked its seventeenth year, and 2026 its eighteenth, demonstrating a level of continuity rarely seen in events organized by local volunteers. The four consecutive nights, from Thursday to Sunday, bring thousands of people—mostly young people—to the fairgrounds from across the Alto Casertano area and neighboring provinces.
The festival is hosted at the Fiera Collina di Sant'Antonio area, an open space on the outskirts of Teano that turns into an open-air village for a few days: the main stage on one side, a row of food and beer stalls on the other, and in between, a space where people eat, drink, and listen to music until late at night. It is the same venue that hosts the historic Sant'Antonio Fair, a location well-known to locals, making the festival easily accessible even for those arriving by car from nearby towns.
The heart of the event is, of course, the beer: a wide selection that pairs commercial labels with craft productions from local and national breweries, served on tap throughout the evening. Accompanying the drinks is the food, simple and generous as per the tradition of Campania village festivals: porchetta sandwiches, grilled sausages, fried snacks, fragrant pizzas, and other specialties prepared in stalls set up for the occasion. It is no-frills cuisine, designed to be eaten standing up, with a glass in hand and music in the background.
Every night, the stage features live concerts and DJ sets, with a lineup that over the years has alternated between emerging local bands and well-known names from the Italian scene. Past guests include Roy Paci in 2014, and in 2024, a lineup that brought together Piotta, Nobraino, Nello Taver, and various DJ sets, in addition to a contest reserved for emerging artists. The formula remains that of a popular festival: free entry, an open stage, and nights that stretch well past midnight.
Alongside the stalls and the stage, a children's playground is set up, making the event suitable for families during the early hours of the evening. There is also a civic dimension: the organizers of the Teano Festival Association have frequently used the stage to share messages of solidarity and peace, as happened on the final night of the 2025 edition, which was dedicated to an appeal for the end of ongoing conflicts.
It is worth arriving a few hours early to visit the town. Teano is the ancient Teanum Sidicinum, capital of the Sidicini people and later an important Roman municipality: it preserves the remains of one of the largest Roman theaters in Southern Italy, a medieval historic center, and a culinary tradition linked to the products of the Caserta hinterland. The city also entered history books for the famous 1860 meeting between Giuseppe Garibaldi and Victor Emmanuel II, which collective Italian memory has fixed as the "historic meeting of Teano." Combining a visit to the town center with the evening festival at the Collina di Sant'Antonio is the best way to understand this corner of Campania.
The 2026 edition of the Teano Beer Festival took place from July 23 to 26 in the usual setting of the Fiera Collina di Sant'Antonio area, in the Sant'Antonio locality of Teano (province of Caserta, Campania).
Four open-air evenings built around the same ingredients as previous editions: a selection of craft and commercial beers served on tap, food stalls with sandwiches, fried snacks, and specialties of popular Caserta cuisine, live concerts and DJ sets on the main stage, and a play area for children that makes the festival accessible to families in the early evening.
As per tradition, access to the event area remained free of charge, with payment only for food and drinks.
By car: A1 Milan–Naples motorway, take the Caianello exit, then follow signs for Teano (a few kilometers away). The Fiera Collina di Sant'Antonio area is located on the outskirts of the town and is served by nearby parking lots, which fill up quickly on peak nights: it is advisable to arrive early.
The festival takes place in the evening, with stalls opening in the late afternoon and music continuing until late at night. Admission to the area is traditionally free: you only pay for drinks and food at the stalls.
You eat and drink standing up or at shared outdoor tables: comfortable shoes are recommended. Drivers can rely on the availability of non-alcoholic beverages at the stalls. For the updated nightly music program, it is best to follow the official Facebook and Instagram pages of the event or email [email protected].
Teano offers some accommodation in town and in the surrounding countryside (farm stays and bed and breakfasts); alternatively, you can stay in Caianello, Vairano Patenora, or the Caserta area, all within a short distance.
