About Taste of Roma

Taste of Roma is the capital's premier gastronomic festival, an annual gathering that brings together the city's top chefs and most exciting restaurants in a single taste village. Gourmet tastings, masterclasses, talks, and meet-and-greets transform the event into a journey through contemporary Italian cuisine. Starting in 2026, the event moves to the Gazometro in Rome's Ostiense district, the heart of the post-industrial city and a symbol of urban regeneration in the Lazio region.

Taste of Roma, the capital's chef festival

Taste of Roma is the most anticipated food and wine event in Rome, a grand festival that annually unites the best chefs and most representative restaurants of the Roman scene in a single convivial space. In the Municipality of Rome, Lazio Region, signature fine dining becomes accessible to everyone for a few days: visitors can sample iconic dishes from top restaurants at reduced prices, participate in masterclasses, attend talks and themed tastings, and experience the work of the protagonists of Italian haute cuisine up close.

A new home: the Gazometro Ostiense

Starting with the tenth edition in 2026, Taste of Roma changes venue and moves to the Gazometro on Via Ostiense, one of the most iconic locations in contemporary Rome. The former industrial plant in the Ostiense district, with its imposing iron structure, has become a symbol of urban regeneration and gives the event a more urban and experimental energy compared to previous editions, which were historically hosted in the hanging gardens of the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

The festival formula

The format is that of a "taste village": about twenty restaurants set up their stations and offer a reduced menu of iconic dishes, designed to be enjoyed in tasting portions. Numerous activities revolve around the kitchens:

  • Gourmet tastings signed by established chefs and new openings in the Roman restaurant scene;
  • Masterclasses and talks in the Taste Arena, with in-depth looks at sustainability, supply chains, and cooking techniques;
  • Pairings with selected wines, beers, and drinks;
  • Activities for families and children, workshops, and entertainment moments with music and DJ sets.

An event for food lovers

Born in 2013 based on the international "Taste" festival model, Taste of Roma has established itself over the years as one of the reference gastronomic events in central Italy, capable of attracting both the most demanding gourmets and curious audiences who want to approach haute cuisine in an informal way. The democratic and convivial formula allows you to compose your own taste journey by choosing from dozens of proposals, from reinterpretations of Roman tradition to international influences.

Rome, capital of taste

For the Municipality of Rome and the entire Lazio Region, Taste of Roma represents an important showcase of the territory's food and wine wealth and the vibrancy of the capital's culinary scene. The setting of the Gazometro, in the Ostiense district, combines industrial archaeology, street art, and food culture into an experience that tells the story of today's Rome.

Taste of Roma โ€” edition 2026

The tenth edition of Taste of Roma, from May 6 to 10, 2026, inaugurated the new Gazometro venue on Via Ostiense. Five days of signature cuisine with over twenty restaurants, established chefs, masterclasses, talks, and DJ sets to celebrate the first ten years of the capital's gastronomic festival.
