Rome's festival of art printmaking and new technologies in Corviale
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The TANT Festival - Ancient Techniques and New Technologies is an event in the Corviale neighborhood of Rome's Municipality XI that celebrates the intersection of traditional printmaking and contemporary digital technology. Conceived and organized by Stamperia del Tevere A.P.S., an experimental printmaking lab, the festival transforms this Roman suburb into a creative hub open to the entire city.
At the heart of the TANT Festival is the dialogue between manual artistic practices of the past—such as intaglio, woodcut, and traditional engraving—and the new possibilities offered by technology. During the event, the printing press and laser cutter, the hand-carved matrix and 3D printing, and woodcut and UV plotting coexist, demonstrating that while tools may evolve, the creative gesture remains at the center.
For about two weeks, the festival offers a rich, free-admission program:
Beyond its artistic dimension, the TANT Festival has a strong social objective: to actively involve the residents of Corviale in creating original works and to foster urban regeneration through culture. The project, conceived by Stamperia del Tevere in collaboration with Flyer Communication, is recognized and supported by Roma Capitale as part of its public cultural initiatives, in collaboration with Zètema Progetto Cultura.
As part of the cultural landscape of Rome and the Lazio region, the TANT Festival is one of the most original experiences dedicated to printmaking in the capital. Its location in Municipality XI, between Portuense and Magliana, makes it a landmark for engraving enthusiasts, students, artists, and families looking to get hands-on experience in the world of creative printing.
The 2026 edition of the TANT Festival is part of the "TANT Festival 2025-2026" biennial project promoted by Stamperia del Tevere A.P.S. and supported by the Roma Capitale administration. As in previous editions, the event brings an intense program dedicated to engraving, art printmaking, and new digital technologies to Corviale, in Municipality XI.
Official dates and the full calendar have not yet been published: the detailed program including workshops, masterclasses, videomapping sessions, and conferences will be announced by Stamperia del Tevere. The events remain free and open to children and adults, in the spirit of participation and urban regeneration of the neighborhood.
The TANT Festival takes place in Corviale, within Rome's Municipality XI, in the area of the Piazzetta delle Arti e dell'Artigianato, near the municipal offices (Via Marino Mazzacurati area). The neighborhood is located in the southwestern part of the city, between Portuense and Magliana.
Corviale can be reached by car from the Grande Raccordo Anulare (Magliana or Pisana exits) and via ATAC public transport connecting the area to Rome's city center. The nearest train station is served by regional Lazio train lines.
Past editions have been free to attend. Registration is recommended for workshops. For information: Stamperia del Tevere A.P.S., tel. +39 328 226 3450, [email protected].
