Super Trani, the pop culture fair for comics and gaming
Every September, Trani, an elegant coastal city in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani, Puglia, becomes the nerd culture capital of the northern Bari area with Super Trani, a fair dedicated to comics, gaming, and cosplay. The event takes place at Largo Don Angelo Pastore, in the Terra Rossa district, a space overlooking the sea just a short walk from the port and the famous Swabian Castle: a setting that makes this event unique compared to any other indoor comic fair.
A self-produced, grassroots event
Super Trani is not a commercial fair but a self-produced project, carried forward with passion by the volunteers of the Insomnia association together with La Fumetteria di Trani, under the patronage of the Municipality of Trani and the Puglia Region. Reaching its fourth edition in 2025, the festival has grown year after year while maintaining the genuine, family-friendly spirit of its origins: a meeting point for fans of comics, manga, video games, and board games from all over Puglia.
What to find at Super Trani
- Stalls featuring comics, manga, and gadgets, with appearances by authors, illustrators, and small publishing houses;
- Interactive areas dedicated to board games, card games, role-playing games, and chess;
- Archery and fencing challenges and latest-generation video game stations;
- The spectacular cosplay competition, with prizes for the best costume and performance;
- Live music, K-pop dance performances, and nerd-themed quizzes.
Music and guests
The live program is one of the fair's highlights. Among the guests of recent editions are the guitarist Domenico Bini, known for electrifying the audience with his solos, and La Ciurma - Live Cartoon Band, a group specializing in covers of cartoon and anime theme songs that have defined entire generations. The festival's mascot, Straa, is also on hand to guide visitors.

Super Trani returns in 2026 with its usual format featuring comic and manga stalls, board game tournaments, cosplay competitions, live music, and K-pop dance, in the picturesque setting of Largo Don Angelo Pastore, overlooking the sea in Trani. At the moment, the organizers have not yet released the dates and program for the 2026 edition: information will be updated as soon as it becomes available.

Location
Super Trani is held at Largo Don Angelo Pastore, in the Terra Rossa district of Trani (BT), in an area overlooking the sea near the port and the Swabian Castle.
How to get there
Trani is served by the railway station on the Adriatic line and is easily accessible by car via the SS16 and the A14 motorway (Trani exit). From the city center, Largo Pastore can be reached on foot in a few minutes.
Admission
In recent editions, the entrance ticket was approximately 3 euros, supporting a fully self-produced event. Details and costs for the 2026 edition will be communicated by the organizers.
