Music and nature on the Castelluccio plateau
Suoni Controvento is the zero-impact travelling festival that every summer transforms Umbria into an open-air stage, weaving music, theatre, and literature among historic villages and natural sites. Among the over twenty locations involved is also Norcia, in the province of Perugia, the heart of the Valnerina.
The Norcia leg features one of the most evocative stages of the entire festival: the Castelluccio pass, at the Scentinelle, on the plateau overlooking the Pian Grande and the Sibillini Mountains. Here, concerts become an experience in contact with nature, reachable after a short climb, with music filling the mountain air at sunset.
Suoni Controvento has made sustainability its hallmark: ISO 20121 certification for sustainable event management, CO2 emission reduction, circular economy, and attention to the local territory. More than just a concert lineup, it's an invitation to discover authentic Umbria by walking, listening, and respecting the places.
The 2026 edition of Suoni Controvento takes place in Umbria from July 16th to September 13th. The Norcia leg is scheduled for Sunday, August 2nd at the Scentinelle, on the Castelluccio di Norcia pass.
The featured artist is Sam Garrett, an English singer-songwriter whose music blends folk, reggae, Eastern philosophy, and Rastafarian spirituality. An acoustic solo concert at sunset, in one of the festival's most beautiful natural stages.
Single ticket âŹ20 plus booking fees, on sale on Ticketone and Ticketitalia. The full program for the leg and the entire festival is on the official Suoni Controvento website.
The Castelluccio pass is reached from Norcia by driving up towards the Castelluccio plateau (about 25 km). On weekends with high attendance, dedicated parking and shuttle services may be active. Layered clothing and comfortable shoes are recommended: you are at high altitude and evening temperatures drop rapidly.
Concerts for the Norcia leg are ticketed, with tickets on sale on Ticketone and Ticketitalia. Programme and prices are available on the festival's official website.
