Estate Nursina
Estate Nursina is the major summer programme of events in Norcia, a town in the Valnerina valley, in the province of Perugia. From July to September, the festival fills the evenings of the historic centre with a dense and varied calendar, designed for residents and tourists of all ages.
A programme for everyone
The programme ranges from singer-songwriter and classical music, to open-air theatre performances, cinema, cabaret, children's shows, book presentations, and day and night excursions in the Monti Sibillini mountains. There are also street art events and outdoor activities â trekking, e-biking, rafting, paragliding â which make Norcia an ideal base for experiencing the Umbrian mountains. Many evening events are held free of charge in Piazza San Benedetto.
A growing festival
In recent years, Estate Nursina has grown to include dozens of events: the 2025 edition featured over 60 events, concentrated mainly in August. It has become one of the ways Norcia enlivens its tourist season and tells the story of the town's rebirth and that of the entire Valnerina valley.
Estate Nursina â edition 2026
For the summer of 2026, Estate Nursina returns, Norcia's summer programme of events. As usual, from July to September, the festival will offer a calendar of concerts, open-air theatre performances, cinema, events for children, book presentations, and excursions in the Monti Sibillini.
The detailed programme for the 2026 edition has not yet been published and will be announced by the Municipality of Norcia in the weeks preceding the start of the festival.

- Music â singer-songwriter and classical music concerts, often free in Piazza San Benedetto
- Theatre and cabaret â open-air performances in the historic centre
- Cinema and children's shows
- Book presentations and cultural events
- Excursions day and night in the Monti Sibillini, outdoor activities

Getting there
Norcia can be reached by car via the SS685 delle Tre Valli Umbre, exiting the SS3 Flaminia at Spoleto. The nearest train station is Spoleto (approx. 50 km away).
When and where
The festival runs from July to September, with the main evening events taking place in Piazza San Benedetto and various locations in the historic centre.
Admission
Many events are free to enter; some performances may require a ticket. The detailed programme is published by the Municipality of Norcia.
