The Summer Opening – Beer Festival and Risotto Feast is the event with which the Pro Loco Dumenza 2.0 officially kicks off the summer season. It takes place at the Carà Sports Centre in Dumenza, a town in the Luinese hinterland in the province of Varese, overlooking the Val Dumentina above Luino.

The Risotto Feast, Heart of the Celebration

The star of the day is the risotto feast in the square, one of the most anticipated events on the Pro Loco's calendar. Prepared by volunteers, it accompanies a celebration of good food, beer, and conviviality. Around the tables, there are stalls of local products, a market, and moments of live music that liven up the afternoon and evening.

A Community Coming Together

The event signals that summer has arrived in Dumenza. It's the first in a long series of events that the Pro Loco 2.0, led by president Delia Benecchi, organises between spring and autumn: from the Celtic festival Dumeltica to the Agricultural Festival, from Oktoberfest to the chestnut festival. The Summer Opening sets the tone for everything: simple, well-attended festivals, built with passion by the town's volunteers.

At the Carà Sports Centre

The Carà Sports Centre, recently renovated, is the hub of Dumenza's summer programming. Here, the Pro Loco's major festivals are held, in a space equipped to host food stalls, music, and audiences of all ages.
