Summer Festival

A summer tradition in the heart of the Bolognese plain

The Summer Festival is the major popular event that enlivens the Municipality of Molinella every July, in the plain of the Metropolitan City of Bologna, in Emilia-Romagna. Also known by the locals as the Molinella Fair, it is a village festival with deep roots: born in the seventies, it has now reached its fifty-third edition, a sign of a solid bond with the local community and the tradition of Emilian summer festivals.

Four days of music, shows, and entertainment

For four days, the historic center of Molinella transforms into a large open-air meeting space. The streets and squares of the town, from Piazza Martoni to Piazza Massarenti and Corso Mazzini, are filled with lights, colors, and attractions suitable for all ages. Every evening, the program offers live music, shows, entertainment, and moments designed for families, young people, and groups of friends.

Alongside the shows, the Summer Festival is also an opportunity to savor local cuisine while strolling through the food stands, with Emilian specialties and street food options. The atmosphere is that of a typical village festival: convivial, popular, and accessible to all, built thanks to the commitment of associations, volunteers, and citizens who believe in the value of community.

An event for the whole community

Organized by the Brés & Baràca association in collaboration with the Pro Loco of Molinella and with the patronage of the Municipality, the Summer Festival represents one of the most important identity moments for the area. It is a free event open to everyone, capable of attracting visitors not only from Molinella but from all over the lower Bologna area and Emilia-Romagna, confirming itself year after year as one of the most beloved summer festivals in the plain.
