A concert series in the heart of the Dolomites

The Summer Concerts in the Parish Church of Tires al Catinaccio (Tiers am Rosengarten) are a classical and chamber music festival that brings summer evenings to life in this small village at the foot of the Catinaccio massif, on the Sciliar plateau, in the province of Bolzano (South Tyrol). The initiative is organized by the Bildungsausschuss Tiers, the local committee for lifelong learning, which curates an annual calendar of evening performances that bring together local residents and the many visitors vacationing in the Alpe di Siusi holiday region.

The setting: The Church of San Giorgio

The concerts take place in the Parish Church of San Giorgio, one of the most significant historical landmarks in Tires. The lower part of the bell tower dates back to 1332, while the upper section was added in 1739; the late-Gothic choir and the nave reflect 18th-century architecture, with an interior redesigned in the late 19th century in a Neo-Romanesque style. The church's intimate acoustics and solemn atmosphere provide an ideal backdrop for chamber music and organ performances.

The 2026 summer program

For the 2026 season, the schedule includes three evening performances, starting at 8:00 PM:

• July 22, 2026 – Concert by the Trio Musaikon, featuring Barbara Bertoldi (cello), Sergio La Vaccara (violin), and Iris Pancheri (piano).
• August 5, 2026 – Concert by the Trio Ventus, featuring Hans Finatzer (trombone), Monika Federspieler (flute), and Stefano Rattini (organ).
• August 19, 2026 – An evening dedicated to the organ and transverse flute.

Each concert lasts approximately two hours and features a repertoire spanning classical music, chamber pieces, and organ works, showcasing the church's own instrument.

The festival is part of the rich summer calendar of Tires al Catinaccio, which complements the season with traditional events like the "Mountaineer Nights" and local village festivals.
