About Sum Sum Fest

Sum Sum Fest - Lands, Peoples and Cultures is the intercultural festival of Manduria, in the province of Taranto, dedicated to peace, dialogue between peoples, and human rights. Born from the experience of the Naturalmente a Sud APS association, it weaves together world music, cinema, food and wine tastings, and meetings, transforming the city's spaces into vibrant places of sharing between different cultures.

A festival for peace and dialogue between peoples

The Sum Sum Fest - Lands, Peoples and Cultures is the intercultural event that brings Manduria to life, a Messapian town in the province of Taranto, in the heart of the Apulian Salento. Born from the experience of the Naturalmente a Sud APS association, the festival connects citizens, schools, the third sector, businesses, and institutions, transforming squares, courtyards, and rural spaces into vibrant meeting places for different cultures.

The common thread of every edition is peace, intercultural dialogue, and human rights: themes such as integration, intercultural education, women's empowerment, decent work, and the reduction of inequalities are told through the universal language of music, cinema, and conviviality at the table.

World music, cinema, and local flavors

The Sum Sum Fest formula combines world music concerts, film screenings, workshops, talks, fashion, sports, and food and wine tastings featuring typical local products. The CIBEMA - Food and Cinema section pairs the big screen with tastings, while the city's urban and rural spaces host artistic installations and moments of collective participation.

Among the symbolic locations of recent editions is the Spazio Primitivo - Agricola Felline, on the outskirts of Manduria, home of the famous Primitivo wine, where the festival hosts its evenings with free admission and activities guaranteed even in case of rain.

A project that grows over time

Reaching its seventh edition in 2026, the Sum Sum Fest is supported by the Apulia Region and the Municipality of Manduria and benefits from the collaboration of numerous cultural and social partners in the Taranto area. Every year, it renews the invitation to look at the South as a laboratory of hospitality, creativity, and coexistence between peoples, where differences become a resource rather than a limitation.

Sum Sum Fest โ€” edition 2026

The seventh edition of the Sum Sum Fest - Lands, Peoples and Cultures took place in Manduria on March 21 and 22, 2026, at the Spazio Primitivo - Agricola Felline. Two days dedicated to peace, intercultural dialogue, and human rights, featuring world music, cinema, and food and wine tastings with typical local products, supported by the Apulia Region and the Municipality of Manduria.

The 7th edition of the Sum Sum Fest brought Manduria to life over the weekend of March 21 and 22, 2026, at the Spazio Primitivo - Agricola Felline. The main theme, dedicated to peace, intercultural dialogue, and human rights, was intertwined with the CIBEMA - Food and Cinema section and the collective installation for the 2025-2026 biennium "The Giants of Sport", which combines ceramic tradition and steel with the universal language of sport as an emblem of peace. Free admission subject to availability, with activities guaranteed even in case of rain.
