Sud and Food is the major summer festival in Avetrana, a small town in the Salento area of Taranto, bordering the Salento area of Lecce, in the Province of Taranto and the heart of Apulia. Every year, on August 12th, the town center turns into a vast open-air venue where gastronomy, live music, entertainment, art, and culture intertwine for a single, unforgettable evening. Born with the goal of promoting the territory and showcasing local businesses, the event has grown edition after edition to attract tens of thousands of people from across the region.

A program of taste and spectacle

The heart of the event is its gastronomic soul: along the squares and streets of the center, gourmet stalls, food trucks, and producers offer Mediterranean specialties and traditional Apulian and Salento dishes. There are options for everyone, including a gluten-free tasting stand managed by local businesses, reflecting the festival's commitment to inclusivity.

Live music

Every edition brings a nationally acclaimed musical lineup to Avetrana. The evening combines concerts, dance performances, and entertainment hosted by well-known presenters, creating a rhythm that keeps the crowd going until late at night.

An event for the community

Organized by the association Rilanciamo Avetrana Insieme APS, Sud and Food is much more than just a village festival: it is a regional promotion project involving merchants, producers, volunteers, and institutions. The event is supported by the Municipality of Avetrana, the Apulia Region, the Province of Taranto, and numerous local associations, which together manage logistics, security, and hospitality. Its completely free admission makes it a popular event open to everyone.

Jingle Fest, the winter version

The energy of Sud and Food doesn't end with summer: the same organization also presents Jingle Fest, the Christmas version of the event, which brings the same mix of flavors, music, and festive atmosphere to the squares of Avetrana during the winter holidays.
