The rock, metal, and underground music festival in Teramo
The Suburbiae Unexpected Fest is the premier event in Teramo dedicated to alternative music: rock, metal, stoner, doom, punk, and hardcore coexist in a lineup carefully curated by those who live the underground scene from the inside. The event takes place in the Municipality of Teramo, the capital of the province of the same name in Abruzzo, and has chosen the Arena De Carolis as its homeโan open-air stage nestled in the Parco Fluviale Davide De Carolis, just a short walk from the city center.
The festival's format alternates between a free-entry day, dedicated to the emerging and most visceral Italian scene, and a ticketed day featuring major international headliners. It is a structure that balances experimentation with big names, bringing the public closer to local and independent acts without sacrificing European-level concerts.
The Suburbiae Unexpected Fest is designed as an immersive experience: a free camping area with limited capacity is available for those who want to stay for both days, along with a food area and a market featuring vinyl, prints, and self-produced merchandise. The atmosphere is that of a genuine, participatory community festival, where the audience, bands, and organizers share the same spaces.
Launched in 2024, the festival has grown rapidly, becoming a reference point for fans of heavy and alternative music in Central Italy. By hosting artists like Claudio Simonetti's Goblin and Godflesh over the years, the festival has built a precise identity defined by courageous programming and attention to the Italian independent scene. For Teramo and Abruzzo, it now represents one of the most distinctive summer events in the niche live music circuit.
The 2026 edition, the third of the Teramo festival, takes place on August 28 and 29 at the Arena De Carolis, in the Parco Fluviale Davide De Carolis in Teramo. Once again, the festival confirms its dual format: a free day dedicated to the Italian scene and a ticketed day featuring international cult names.
The first day is dedicated to punk, hardcore, and the Italian underground. The lineup features the Turin-based Bull Brigade as the headliner, along with Cyborg Zero, Alsaint, Vibratacore, Mud, Rupe, Inerdzia, and Atom Lux, winner of the UnderSub contest. There will also be space for ร-Talk, a moment of debate on independent culture with Rumore Magazine.
The second day brings the Australian band Wolfmother to Teramo, along with Messa, the Ukrainian band Stoned Jesus, Shores of Null, and Lowmax. A lineup ranging from rock to stoner and doom with dark atmospheres.
A free camping area with limited capacity is available for both days, along with a food area and a market. Tickets for August 29 can be purchased on Vivaticket, at authorized retailers, and on the official website.
Friday, August 28 (free entry): Bull Brigade, Cyborg Zero, Alsaint, Vibratacore, Mud, Rupe, Inerdzia, Atom Lux (UnderSub winner), ร-Talk with Rumore Magazine.
Saturday, August 29 (ticketed): Wolfmother, Messa, Stoned Jesus, Shores of Null, Lowmax.
The Arena De Carolis is located in the Parco Fluviale Davide De Carolis, on via del Tiro in Teramo, a short distance from the center. By car, it can be reached via the A24 motorway (Teramo exit). The Teramo train station is just a few minutes away from the park.
The free-entry day does not require a ticket. For the ticketed day, tickets are available on Vivaticket, at authorized retailers, and on the official festival website.
A free camping area with limited spots is available for both days. Food stalls and a market are on-site. We recommend checking the official website and social media channels for updates on schedules and services.
