The international eclectic music festival arrives in Teramo
The MoonJune Festival — International Festival of Eclectic Music is an international event dedicated to eclectic music, weaving together progressive rock, contemporary jazz, fusion, avant-rock, and world music. Established in 2022 as a traveling festival linked to the record label and booking agency MoonJune Music, it makes its Italian debut in the city of Teramo, the capital of the province of the same name in Abruzzo, following its previous editions abroad.
The 2026 edition marks a significant milestone: twenty-five years of MoonJune Music, the label founded by Leonardo Pavkovic, which has spent a quarter-century producing and promoting artists who defy traditional musical categories. For this occasion, the city of Teramo becomes an international showcase, with concerts, round-table discussions, and meetings held in evocative locations throughout the historic center.
The festival brings various spaces in Teramo's center to life: the central Piazza Sant'Anna, which hosts large outdoor evening concerts, Largo Melatino, and the Sala Ipogea, alongside round-table discussions held in historic sites such as the Castello della Monica. This layout allows attendees to experience the event as a journey through music and urban heritage.
The MoonJune Festival is a rare meeting point for enthusiasts of progressive and experimental sounds. The program brings together cult names from the European and global scene alongside Italian musicians, featuring ensembles specifically formed for the occasion and unique collaborations. Alongside the concerts, the festival offers round-table discussions and deep dives into the history of progressive music and the artistic legacy of its protagonists.
Beyond its artistic dimension, the MoonJune Festival was created with the goal of promoting the Teramo region and its cultural scene, fostering a dialogue between international music and the Abruzzese identity. The organization is entrusted to the local cultural association Music by Eder ETS, led by Emiliano Di Serafino, in collaboration with MoonJune Music and with the support of local institutions, including the Municipality of Teramo. It is an event that combines international ambition with deep roots in the heart of Abruzzo.
