Street Food Sicily On Tour is a traveling festival that has been crossing Sicily for several seasons, combining the best of the island's street food with live entertainment. One of its most popular stops is Riposto, a lively seaside town in the province of Catania overlooking the Ionian Sea, at the foot of Mount Etna. The event took root here in 2024 and has since become a staple of the summer, enlivening the historic center and attracting thousands of visitors from across the Etna region.
Eighteen stalls and the flavors of the island
The heart of the festival is the scenic Piazza del Commercio, where eighteen white stalls are set up, managed by vendors from every corner of Sicily. This journey through taste is an authentic catalog of regional gastronomic tradition: from tuna cipolline and octopus couscous to Aeolian pinsa, fried calamari, the famous pani ca' meusa, and savory cannoli paired with cocktails, as well as breaded shrimp, pork products, arrosticini, cured meats, pasta alla norma, Messina-style bracioline, siculamburger, pizza a portafoglio, and crêpes. Visitors can also enjoy a selection of craft beers.
Music, concerts, and DJ sets
Street food in Riposto is about more than just gastronomy: every evening, artists, bands, and popular DJs take the stage in the square, making each night unique. Past editions have featured performances by Radio 105 DJ Pippo Palmieri, an 883 tribute band, and musical acts dedicated to the 80s and 90s, creating a festive atmosphere that lasts until late at night.
An event for the local area
Organized with the support of the Municipality of Riposto, the event aims to promote Sicilian food and wine excellence and revitalize the town center during summer evenings. To facilitate public access, a free shuttle service is provided from parking areas to the square, and entry to the food area is completely free. How to reach us
By car: take the A18 Messina-Catania motorway, exit at Giarre, then follow signs for Riposto. By train: Giarre-Riposto station on the Messina-Catania-Syracuse line, just a few minutes from the center. During the event, a free evening shuttle service operates from parking areas to the square.
