About The Magic of Christmas
The largest Christmas village in the province
Every winter, the PalaGiarre, located at the corner of Via Giorgio Almirante and Via Gramsci in Giarre (Catania), transforms into an enchanted world. The Magic of Christmas – Santa's Village and Enchanted Shows is considered the largest Christmas village in the Ionian-Etna region, offering an indoor and outdoor experience that welcomes families, children, and visitors of all ages from the Feast of the Immaculate Conception through Epiphany.
Themed Areas
The village is divided into numerous themed areas, each with its own unique atmosphere. Visitors walk among illuminated trees and artisan huts, all dominated by a majestic twelve-meter-tall Christmas tree, the centerpiece of the entire display.
- Santa's House: The space where little ones can meet Santa, deliver their letters, and take a souvenir photo.
- Santa's Farm: An area featuring animals that children can interact with.
- The Elf Workshop: Where visitors can discover the secrets of Santa's helpers and try their hand at creative workshops.
- The Ice Rink: A rink for skating in a festive Christmas atmosphere.
- Food Court and Market: Local producers and artisans offer traditional products and gastronomic specialties from the Ionian-Etna area.
- Selfie Area and Hanging Lights: Luminous sets and installations designed for photos.
Enchanted Shows
Beyond the exhibition, the village offers a rich calendar of performances: circus and acrobatic acts, aerial shows, musical and gospel entertainment in the outdoor area, and full-scale fairy-tale musicals such as Beauty and the Beast and Santa and the Magic Amulet, designed to captivate both children and adults.
A Local Event
The event also aims to support the local economy: producers from the area offer handcrafted goods and culinary delicacies typical of the Ionian-Etna zone in the province of Catania. The Magic of Christmas has become one of the premier holiday events for Giarre and the entire Etna region of Eastern Sicily.
