The on-the-road kitchens of the best Italian street food at Parco del Popolo
The STREEAT Food Truck Festival is the first travelling Italian event dedicated to quality street food on wheels. Founded in 2014, for over ten years it has brought a true caravan of flavors to the squares and parks of the country, made up of Ape cars, vans, caravans, and trailers equipped with grills, ovens, and fryers. An anticipated stop on the national tour is Reggio Emilia, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, where the event takes place in the green setting of Parco del Popolo, a stone's throw from the historic center of the Municipality.
For an entire weekend, the park fills with colors, aromas, and flavors that tell the story of Italy from north to south. The food trucks offer regional specialties and international cuisines: Chianina hamburgers, Neapolitan fried pizza, Abruzzese arrosticini, fried fish cones, Sicilian arancini and cannoli, Mexican tacos, crepes, pancakes, and waffles. There are also options for those with special dietary needs, with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free dishes, accompanied by a selection of Italian craft beers.
STREEAT is not just a gastronomic festival: the formula combines good food with live music and a program of free workshops where producers and artisans in the sector share stories, raw ingredients, and processing techniques. A choice that aims to combine quality, local products, and gastronomic education, in line with the festival's original spirit, which focuses on the link between cuisine, health, innovation, and craftsmanship.
With free admission and the large open spaces of Parco del Popolo, the event is designed for all ages: families, groups of friends, and curious visitors can stroll among the colorful vehicles, taste different dishes at every corner, and stop to listen to the music selections.
