The StraFrattese has become one of the most anticipated running events in the northern Naples area. Every spring, the streets of Frattamaggiore, a town in the metropolitan city of Naples, Campania, fill with runners and enthusiasts for a competitive road race that has grown over the years into a major local event. In 2026, the race reached the milestone of its fifth edition, cementing its status as a classic of regional road running.

A fast course in the heart of the city

The route follows the classic distance of approximately 10 kilometers (9.9 km in the 2026 design) and takes place entirely within the town, with the start and finish line on Corso Durante, the main artery of Frattamaggiore. For the 2026 edition, organizers introduced a new start and finish point along with several course adjustments, designed to make it even smoother and faster, appealing to both competitive runners chasing personal bests and amateur enthusiasts.

Over a thousand athletes competing

StraFrattese regularly attracts over 1,300 registered participants representing more than 100 sports clubs from Campania. The starting grid brings together elite athletes, masters, and amateurs in an atmosphere of great public participation that involves families and spectators along the route. Inclusion is also a priority, with the participation of athletes with disabilities.

The Mimmo Del Prete Trophy

The event is organized by the A.S.D. Amatori Marathon Frattese, led by Alessandro Del Prete, with the patronage of the Municipality of Frattamaggiore and under the aegis of sports promotion bodies. The race is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Mimmo Del Prete, a highly respected figure in the local community: the trophy bearing his name is awarded to the winning team in the club rankings, serving as the symbolic and emotional heart of the entire event.
