StraDonBosco con Domenico

Running together, in Domenico's name

StraDonBosco con Domenico is one of the most cherished sporting and solidarity events in Potenza. More than a race, it's a neighborhood celebration that starts from Piazza Don Bosco and involves families, runners, children, and walkers on a route that crosses the city. The event carries the memory of Domenico Lorusso, a young Salesian educator who passed away in Munich on May 28, 2013: the run was created by his friends and the community to pass on the values of joy, altruism, and commitment that distinguished him.

Sport for everyone

The event includes a non-competitive running race and a walk open to all, with different routes designed for various age groups, from the youngest to the most trained athletes. It's an inclusive format where participation matters more than the stopwatch: the goal is to bring the city together around sports and the values of the Salesian oratory.

A community network

Promoted by the Parish of San Giovanni Bosco together with the ASD Podistica Amatori Potenza, StraDonBosco enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Potenza and CONI Basilicata. It's an event that truly showcases the solidarity of the Lucanian capital: a city that knows how to work as a team and that, once a year, comes together to run in remembrance and to build community.
