Straborgorevel is a non-competitive running and power-walking event held in Borgo Revel, a charming hamlet in the municipality of Verolengo, in the Metropolitan City of Turin (Piedmont). It is not a race for speed, but a village festival on foot: a chance to run or walk together through the Canavese countryside and along the banks of the Po, with the sole goal of enjoying the outdoors and connecting with others.

The event was born from the passion of I Matot, a young and dynamic group that has been enlivening Borgo Revel for years with cultural and social initiatives. I Matot are a group of young people who meet every Tuesday evening with a shared mission: to conceive and carry out activities that contribute to the growth and well-being of their village. Straborgorevel is one of their most successful creations, designed to bring different generations together through a simple, accessible, and popular sporting concept.

Routes between the Po and the Canavese countryside

The event offers several options to suit both athletes and families. You can choose the 11-kilometre non-competitive run, the shorter 6-kilometre run, or the 6-kilometre walk, which is ideal for those who prefer a slower pace and a chat. The routes wind through the village streets and the surrounding country paths, set in the river landscape typical of this corner of the Piedmontese plains overlooking the Po.

The meeting point, start, and finish line are all located in Piazza Cottolengo, in the heart of Borgo Revel, which also serves as the hub for the day's social activities. Borgo Revel is a village deeply connected to its farming roots and the parish of Sant'Anna, and this sporting initiative is part of the broader efforts by I Matot to rediscover ancient traditions and keep the community spirit alive.

A day of sport and conviviality

Straborgorevel doesn't end at the finish line: the day continues with a final dinner open to everyone. This is the highlight of the social experience, held in the square in Borgo Revel (reservation required, subject to availability).
