Food, music, and culture in the medieval village of Balestrino
In the hinterland of Savona, the village of Balestrino (Province of Savona) preserves a charming medieval core dominated by the castle of the Del Carretto marquises. It is in this extraordinary setting, and particularly in the former Stables of the Marquis, that the Storica Sagra dei 3 giorni takes place every August, one of the most beloved events in the area, organized by the Pro Loco of Balestrino.
From 7:00 PM, the food stalls offer traditional Ligurian dishes: fugassin, torte verdi (vegetable pies), ravioli, lamb, and Ligurian-style rabbit, accompanied by excellent local wines. The sagra is enjoyed amidst the ancient stones of the village, in an atmosphere made unique by the medieval setting and the live music that accompanies the evenings.
The event is not just about food: during the sagra, you can visit the Napoleonic cadastral registry, opened for the occasion, and a photographic exhibition dedicated to the ancient village, partly abandoned. Covered areas and a space dedicated to children complete the offering. The Storica Sagra dei 3 giorni is thus an opportunity to discover the history and charm of Balestrino, one of the most picturesque villages in the hinterland of the Riviera di Ponente.
The Storica Sagra dei 3 giorni returns in August 2026 to the medieval village of Balestrino, at the former Stables of the Marquis. For three evenings, from 7:00 PM, the Pro Loco's food stalls will offer typical Ligurian cuisine — fugassin, torte verdi, ravioli, lamb, and Ligurian-style rabbit — accompanied by live music and local wines. During the sagra, it is possible to visit the Napoleonic cadastral registry and a photographic exhibition on the ancient village. The precise dates for the 2026 edition will be announced by the organization.
The precise dates and musical program for the 2026 edition will be announced by the Pro Loco of Balestrino closer to the sagra.
By car: from the A10 motorway, exit at Borghetto Santo Spirito or Albenga, then take the road to the hinterland until Balestrino. By train: Loano or Albenga station, then take a bus to the hinterland.
Food stalls open from 7:00 PM. Free admission, pay for consumption. Covered areas and children's space.
