About Mercatino dell'Antiquariato

The last Sunday of every month, for over thirty years, the medieval arcades of Pieve di Teco have been filled with antique and modern market stalls. Around 150 exhibitors, many from other regions, offer antique objects, furniture, prints, ceramics, and rural curiosities in one of the most picturesque market towns in the Imperia hinterland. A stroll through history and collecting in the heart of the Valle Arroscia.

A centuries-old market tradition

Pieve di Teco, in the province of Imperia, was founded as a market town on a plain destined for trade since antiquity. The Mercatino dell'Antiquariato (Antique Market) is built upon this heritage, a monthly event that has enlivened the village for over thirty years on the last Sunday of every month.

What to find

Under the charming medieval arcades of the historic centre, an average of 150 exhibitors set up their stalls, many of whom come from outside the region. The offerings range from "all sorts of antique objects, even simple, rural, rudimentary ones" to more valuable and prestigious pieces: furniture, prints, ceramics, books, coins, and curiosities for collectors and enthusiasts.

The charm of the village

The setting is that of the stone portals and narrow streets of Pieve di Teco, which is part of the long tradition of rich fairs that have been held there for centuries on set dates. Visiting the market means discovering both collecting and the architecture of one of the most characteristic villages in the Valle Arroscia.
