Five evenings in August in Ranzi between farmer's wine and Ligurian cuisine
On the Colle della Madonnina, in the hamlet of Ranzi above Pietra Ligure (province of Savona), one of the most beloved sagre of western Liguria takes place every year in mid-August. The star is Nostralino, a humble red wine made from late harvest grapes: an unpretentious product that tells the rough but genuine and loyal character of the people of these hills.
The festival's cuisine is a small treatise on Ligurian gastronomy: the famous ravioli di Ranzi, chickpea zemin, trofie al pesto, pasta with fish, stuffed cima (veal breast), tripe, fish soup, and fried dishes. Dishes that, as they say around here, tell this corner of Liguria better than any guide.
Every evening the kitchen opens at 7 PM and the festival continues with live music: an acoustic trio to open, bands taking turns, and DJ sets in the latter part of the evening. The program is completed by the craft market, games for children, and a photographic exhibition dedicated to the history of the village.
Born in the post-war period and continuously active since 1962, the Sagra del Nostralino is organized by the community of Ranzi and is today a landmark of the Pietrese summer, capable of attracting visitors from all over the Riviera.
For 2026, the Sagra del Nostralino confirms its traditional dates, from August 10 to 14, on the Colle della Madonnina in Ranzi. Five evenings with traditional food stands (ravioli di Ranzi, chickpea zemin, trofie al pesto, cima, fried dishes), Nostralino wine, a craft market, games for children, and live music with bands and DJ sets. The detailed music program will be announced by the organizers in the weeks preceding the festival.
