The historic fair of Chiusi Scalo, held twice a year featuring market stalls, crafts, and local food and wine
The Stazione Fair is one of the most beloved events in Chiusi Scalo, the modern district of the town of Chiusi, in the province of Siena, Tuscany. Promoted by the Chiusinvetrina Natural Shopping Center in collaboration with the Municipality of Chiusi, Banca Valdichiana, Confesercenti, and Confcommercio, the fair returns twice a year, transforming the station district into a large open-air market frequented by locals, tourists, and curious visitors from outside the province and region.
For the occasion, the streets around the railway station and Piazza Dante come alive with more than a hundred stalls offering all kinds of goods: from clothing to local products, footwear to accessories, jewelry to handicrafts and hobby items, not to mention games for children. The fair stretches along the characteristic triangle of streets in the natural shopping center, while local shops stay open all day with special promotions and offers.
The event features a double appointment: the June 2nd edition, coinciding with Republic Day, and the first Sunday of December, now a staple of the Christmas holiday calendar. On both occasions, the day is marked by stalls, music, and side events, with a special focus on local food and wine products and regional craftsmanship.
More than just a commercial fair, the Stazione Fair is a moment of celebration for the Chiusi community, an opportunity to discover the excellence of the Sienese Valdichiana and to experience the town center in a lively and convivial atmosphere. Its longevity testifies to the deep bond between the event and the residents of Chiusi Scalo, who have long awaited it as one of the key moments in the town's commercial and social life.
Chiusi Scalo is easily accessible thanks to the Chiusi-Chianciano Terme railway station, an important hub on the Florence-Rome line, around which the fair itself takes place. By car, the Chiusi-Chianciano exit on the A1 motorway is just a few minutes from the center.
The date of June 2, 2026 was officially confirmed by the Chiusinvetrina Natural Shopping Center, which published the final list of exhibitors along with the other two dates for the promotional fair (December 7, 2025, and December 6, 2026). The event was held from morning until evening, with a full program of stalls distributed along the streets of the Chiusi Scalo natural shopping center.
For this edition as well, the fair offered the usual variety of goods โ clothing, footwear, accessories, jewelry, local products, and handicrafts โ accompanied by the opening of local shops with dedicated promotions.
The Stazione Fair runs from 9:00 AM and continues throughout the day until 10:00 PM. The streets around the station and Piazza Dante host over a hundred stalls categorized by type: clothing, footwear, accessories, jewelry, local food products, crafts, and hobbies, with an area dedicated to children's games. The shops of the Natural Shopping Center remain open all day.
