The festival that welcomes the summer season in Cambiasca
The Start of Summer Festival is one of the most anticipated events for the community of Cambiasca, a small town nestled in the Valle Intrasca, in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, in the heart of the Alpine Piedmont, just a few kilometers from the shores of Lake Maggiore. As the official announcement states, this year again, local associations, the parish, and the Municipality are joining forces to organize an evening of celebration to mark the arrival of the warm season.
The heart of the event is the Cambiasca Parish Field, in Piazza San Gregorio, a space that transforms for the occasion into an open-air meeting place. It is here that the town's inhabitants and visitors gather at dusk to share a few hours of joy, in keeping with the community tradition that characterizes the villages of the valley.
More than a grand spectacle, the Start of Summer Festival is a true village festival: a simple and genuine opportunity to be together, welcome the summer, and strengthen the bonds between the various local associations. The collaboration between local volunteers, the San Gregorio parish, and the municipal administration is the hallmark of this event, reflecting the strong sense of belonging typical of the Valle Intrasca communities.
Cambiasca is a small village of just over 1,500 inhabitants, surrounded by greenery between Lake Maggiore and the Ossola mountains. Its location, a short distance from Verbania and Intra, makes it an ideal destination for those wishing to discover the authenticity of Piedmontese villages far from mass tourism. Participating in the Start of Summer Festival means experiencing the hospitality and traditions of this corner of Piedmont firsthand.
The festival is open to everyone, residents and visitors, families and groups of friends. It is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the convivial atmosphere of an Alpine village at the beginning of summer and to discover one of the many popular festivals that enliven the municipalities of the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola province during the summer season.
The 2026 Start of Summer Festival returns to Cambiasca on Saturday, June 20, starting at 6:00 PM at the Parish Field in Piazza San Gregorio. The event, confirmed by the official announcement of the Municipality, once again sees the collaboration between local associations, the parish, and the municipal administration.
The invitation to the citizens is to participate in large numbers to celebrate the arrival of summer together in a convivial, open-air atmosphere. The festival is open to everyone and admission is free.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event. The festival will begin on Saturday, June 20 at 6:00 PM at the Parish Field of Cambiasca, in Piazza San Gregorio.
Following the tradition of this village festival organized by associations, the parish, and the Municipality, the evening is dedicated to outdoor conviviality to celebrate the beginning of the warm season together.
