Shows, entertainment, and street performers for children and families in the heart of Versilia
As the warmer season arrives, Forte dei Marmi (Province of Lucca, Tuscany) presents Springtime in Forte dei Marmi, a series of events held throughout the town that accompanies residents and visitors from April 25th until Republic Day on June 2nd. Promoted by the municipal administration, the festival is specifically dedicated to children and families, aiming to fill the town center with life during weekends and spring holidays, while anticipating the atmosphere of the Versilian summer.
The heart of the action is Piazza Garibaldi, the historic living room of the Forte, flanked by the central streets that host the roaming parades. The program weaves together various forms of live performance: street artists, classic mime, contemporary circus, wooden skill games, fire shows, and storytelling sessions. The offerings are designed to engage the little ones while appealing to all generations, in a format that prides itself on being free of charge and artistically high-quality.
The schedule ranges from the Parata Silvana, an evocative spring-themed fairy-tale procession, to mime performances, the Circus Van with games and face painting, and fire shows, all the way to evening parades that animate the center at sunset. The festival concludes in music on Republic Day with a concert by the historic Banda La Marinara, a symbol of local tradition.
An elite destination in Versilia, Forte dei Marmi is known for its beaches, boutiques, and the famous Wednesday and Sunday market. With this spring festival, the town reveals its more familiar and popular side, offering those visiting in April, May, and June an extra reason to choose the Forte even outside the summer season. It is a perfect opportunity to discover the town while strolling between the pier, the shopping streets, and the squares animated by the shows.
