Crafts, street food, and local roots on the 'Balcony of the Langhe'
As spring hits its stride, Lequio Tanaro dresses up in the colors and scents of the season for its Spring Market. The village, located in the Province of Cuneo, is known as the Balcony of the Langhe: from its Belvedere, the view stretches across the UNESCO-listed hills, making this setting truly special. For an entire Sunday, the town becomes a meeting point for residents, curious travelers, and visitors passing through the heart of Piedmont.
The heart of the event is the charming Piazza Senatore Curreno, along with the Belvedere area, which transform for the occasion into a vibrant space dedicated to colors, flavors, and craftsmanship. The town center streets host the exhibitors' stalls, creating the convivial atmosphere that defines Langhe village festivals.
The market showcases the work of numerous hobbyists with their handmade creations, alongside local businesses—pizzerias, cafes, and food shops—and merchants who bring the day to life. There is also plenty of street food, with a varied and high-quality culinary selection.
As Mayor Giuseppe Trossarello notes, the market offers "the luxury of slowness: the pleasure of a chat among the stalls" and is "an event designed for young and old, aimed at promoting the local economy in a festive setting." It is an event that celebrates the beauty of being together, rooted in local traditions. The organization is managed by the Municipality of Lequio Tanaro, the Pro Loco, and the cultural association Lequio Enjoy, with the invaluable contribution of volunteers and exhibitors.
