The widespread musical review celebrating spring in Aosta Valley, featuring choirs, bands, and major concerts
Printemps en Musique is the major widespread musical review that enlivens the Aosta Valley every spring. Promoted by the Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley through the Department of Education and Culture, in collaboration with the Conservatoire de la Vallée d'Aoste and the Maria Ida Viglino Musical Foundation (SFOM), it brings together concerts, choirs, musical bands, traditional music, and major gatherings of regional musical life in a single program.
From May to July, events unfold between Aosta and the region's municipalities: the Teatro Splendor in Aosta, the Collegiate Church of Sant'Orso, the auditoriums of Pont-Saint-Martin and Aymavilles, and the villages of Fénis and surrounding areas. A format that brings music to theaters, churches, and squares, showcasing professionals, young students, and the many amateur groups in the area.
The heart of the review features two historic gatherings: the Assembly of Aosta Valley Choirs and Folk Groups, which brings together dozens of choirs and folk groups from across the region, and the Gathering of Aosta Valley Musical Bands, a celebration of Alpine band tradition. These are complemented by traditional music in Patois (Patoué eun Mezeucca), choral projects for young people, and major symphonic-choral concerts.
Printemps en Musique is not just a concert season; it's an event of identity that tells the deep connection between the Aosta Valley and its music, between Francophonie, Patois, and Alpine tradition. For visitors to the region in spring, it's an opportunity to discover a living heritage, made of voices, bands, and communities.
The 2026 edition of Printemps en Musique opens on May 15th at the Teatro Splendor in Aosta with a concert by the Trio Terzo Grado from the Conservatoire and unfolds over two months between Aosta and the municipalities of the Aosta Valley. The highlights include the 74th Assembly of Aosta Valley Choirs and Folk Groups (May 22-31), the 52nd Gathering of Musical Bands in Fénis (May 31-June 6), traditional music from Patoué eun Mezeucca, choral projects for schools, and the Conservatoire's chamber orchestra. The grand finale is Mozart's Requiem, on July 11th at Arena Piazzale P8 in Aosta. Promoted by the Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley with the Conservatoire and SFOM.
