Two days of flowers, plants, crafts, and shows in the historic center of Castelfranco Emilia
The Spring Festival is one of the most anticipated events in the calendar of Castelfranco Emilia, a municipality in the Province of Modena, in the heart of the Emilian plain. For an entire weekend, the historic center transforms into a large open-air space where flowers, plants, crafts, and popular tradition intertwine with shows, workshops, and good local cuisine. It is a festival that speaks of the community coming together, and which every spring attracts families and visitors from all over Emilia-Romagna.
The heart of the event is Corso Martiri, where the exhibition and sale of flowers, plants, garden items, and equipment unfolds from morning to evening. Alongside the nurserymen, there is the art and craft market, stands of local associations, and a large area dedicated to families, with traditional wooden games, carousels for children, and a space designed for four-legged friends.
The festival is spread throughout the center: in Piazza Aldo Moro, the organic market «Bio c'è» with local producers and the street art of «Montmartre» are concentrated, while Piazza Curiel hosts the craft beer festival paired with organic cheeses, with workshops and masterclasses. There is also the extraordinary opening of the Communal Vinegar Cellar, with guided tours and tasting of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, a tribute to one of the gastronomic excellences of the territory.
The two days are marked by street performances, giant soap bubbles, puppet shows, animated readings in the library, and botanical workshops for children at the Civic Museum. On Sunday, color explodes with the Brazilian Carnival, with floats, music, and churrasco, while on Saturday evening, the «Paperella Party» livens up the center with music and street food until late at night.
Organized by the Municipality of Castelfranco Emilia together with the association «È Castelfranco Emilia» and with the collaboration of numerous local entities, the Spring Festival has free admission. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the center of an authentic Emilian city, also known as the homeland of tortellino, in a festive atmosphere that officially inaugurates spring.
The 2026 edition animated the center of Castelfranco Emilia on the weekend of April 18th and 19th, with exhibitions of flowers and plants in Corso Martiri (9:00 AM - 8:00 PM), an art and craft market, association stands, a family area, and a space for dogs.
